2 bedroom, 4 person, self-contained apartment, Oreshets, South East Bulgaria, €20 per person per night summertime (June, July, August) and €30 per person per night rest of year.

At the base of the Eastern Rhodope Mountains, this apartment is on the upper floor of a house in village Oreshets. The forests are within a short walking distance.

From the top of the external steps you can see the Eastern Rhodope Mountains in the distance. The front door opens into a conservatory overlooking the garden.

The central room has a fitted kitchen with fridge freezer, electric oven, microwave, kettle and toaster. The flooring is wood laminate and all windows are double glazed PVC with fly screens. There are a total of 5 air-conditioning units throughout the apartment.

The rooms are very spacious with high ceilings. Room 1 is south facing and has a double bed. Room 2 is west facing so sees the sunsets and has 2 single beds.

The lounge has a woodburner for heating and cooking with a large dining table. The corner sofa converts into a bed sleeping 2 people, with a television and DVD player, selection of films plus board games and books. There are supplementary electric heaters in the 3 rooms.

The fully tiled bathroom has a shower over the bath, with flushing toilet and sink. Water is heated by an electric boiler and drainage to village canalisation. There is a back-up water reserve tank with on-demand pump, in the event village water pressure drops in high summer.

Parking space for 3 cars alongside the house and the village is very safe. The owner lives downstairs with 2 dogs and a cat and you will have shared use of the garden, summer kitchen and outdoor seating. Free range hens provide fresh eggs. Herbs are available to use fresh from the organic garden as well as strawberries. Fruit trees include a large pear tree with 2 varieties, mulberry, figs and jujubes or chinese apple. More trees have been planted but are too young to bear fruit.

In summer time, June to September, a plunge pool is available.

Oreshets village has a general grocery shop and café open 7 days a week and sells honey from own beehives. Opening times are 6am to 12:00 and 16:00 until 20:00. Fresh raw milk is available from 2 dairies and there is a cheese production facility selling tasty sirene, Bulgarian white cheese.

There is a daily bus to Harmanli and only a 20 minute drive to Lyubimets, the nearest town with everything needed including larger grocery stores, restaurants, chemists, ATM machines and petrol stations. The neighbouring village, Malko Gradishte, has an open air swimming pool available June to September.

On the second floor of a charming house in village Oreshets, south East Bulgaria, close to the Greece and Turkey border crossings, the apartment has recently been renovated to a very high standard. Up to 8 people can sleep here however large groups are more suited to short stays.

The lounge is cosy and homely, with sofa bed, flat screen television, dining table and 4 chairs.

The fitted kitchen has a full size fridge/freezer, washing machine, electric oven with 2 hobs, an air fryer, microwave oven, kettle and toaster. An air conditioner unit is installed for heating and cooling.

The double room has a very comfortable bed, a sofa bed, wardrobe, television and vanity table. The WIFI router is located in this bedroom for the best reception.

There are supplementary, stand-alone, electric radiators (as seen in photo) for occasional heating if necessary.

The other bedroom has 2 single beds and 2 windows overlooking the garden. All the windows in the apartment are double glazed PVC with fly nets.

The second bedroom also has a television. Wall radiators throughout the apartment are plumbed to a central heating boiler system, heated by a woodburner on the lower floor, so can only be in operation when the owner is in residence. Though radiators are not necessary from Spring to Autumn.

The fully tiled wet room is very large, with a massive shower area.

Hot water is supplied from a new electric boiler to shower and sink and there is a modern flushing toilet.

Set away from the main road, on the north side of the village, the property is very quiet and peaceful. There is a large enclosed garden. with many types of fruit trees including figs.

Oreshets village has a general grocery shop open 7 days a week and serving coffee. Opening times are 6am to 12:00 and 16:00 until 20:00. Oreshets also has a cheese production facility selling tasty sirene, Bulgarian white cheese. a twice weekly post office and hairdressing salon once a month.

There is a daily bus to Harmanli and only a 20 minute drive to Lyubimets, the nearest town with everything needed including large grocery shops, restaurants, ATMs, chemists and petrol stations. The neighbouring village, Malko Gradishte, has an open air swimming pool available June to September.
